Discovering Gallipoli and its surroundings with our local guide that will lead you to Alezio (ancient Messapian city, where there is an interesting museum on pre-Roman civilisations) and then Sannicola. Cycling on secondary country roads, among olive trees and dry stone walls, you reach Tenuta Mamma Anna - a family-run farm where the cooking class will take place.
You will learn how to prepare some of the most important dishes of the Apulian tradition, such as potato pitta (a kind of potato gateau, with a stuffing of tomatoes, olives, capers, onion and tuna), pittule (some fried dough balls) , filled with tomatoes and capers, or empty to taste with honey) and hand-made orecchiette (a typical local pasta, shaped like an ear, prepared with fingers and a knife), the pasticciotto cake (a cake made with shortbread, filled with chantilly cream).
Then, you will have a family lunch with the dishes we have prepared together and vegetables that you can pick form the garden of the house.
Returning to Gallipoli, we will show you the baroque city of Galatone and a visit to the Radio Museum in Tuglie.
The route is easy and suitable for everyone.
