Yehliu Geopark is a geological wonder located on the northern coast of Taiwan, renowned for its unique rock formations and captivating landscapes. Spanning approximately 1,700 metres along the coastline, the park is a fascinating natural exhibition shaped by wind and sea erosion over thousands of years. The highlight of Yehliu Geopark is its distinctive rock formations, each bearing whimsical names inspired by their shapes. The most iconic formation is the "Queen's Head," a natural limestone statue resembling the profile of a queen. Other notable formations include the "Fairy Shoe," "Sea Candles," and the "Ginger Rocks," each contributing to the park's otherworldly ambiance. Shifen Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located in the Pingxi District of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Renowned as the broadest waterfall in the country, Shifen is a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking the tranquility of nature. Shifen Waterfall is a horseshoe-shaped cascade that spans a width of around 40 metres (131 feet) and plunges approximately 20 metres (66 feet) into the Keelung River below. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and steep cliffs, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle.

The train station located down the river from the waterfall area, originally built for transporting coal, was built right alongside the Shifen Old Streets. Shifen Station is one of the oldest railway stations in Taiwan, dating back to the Japanese colonial era. Originally built for transporting coal during the mining boom, it now serves as a nostalgic reminder of the region's industrial past. One of the most distinctive features of Shifen Station is its railway tracks lined with colourful lanterns. Visitors often write their wishes or messages on these lanterns before releasing them into the sky, creating a mesmerising display, especially during the Pingxi Lantern Festival.
