Get the opportunity to see giant pandas at a conservation centre and take a bullet train to Leshan. Visit the largest stone Buddha statue in the world, more than 1,000 years old, and learn about this massive marvel with your knowledgeable guide.

Meet your guide at your Chengdu hotel and take a 1-hour drive to see giant pandas at the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center, a facility dedicated to conservation, education, and research. Discover how it started in 1987 with 6 rescued pandas and today it is home to more than 80 pandas and has hosted 124 panda births.

Next, catch a bullet train to Leshan with your guide and bring or buy lunch to enjoy on the train. When you reach Leshan, take a taxi to the Leshan Giant Buddha, a 233-foot (71-metre) tall stone statue with rivers flowing below its feet and the largest stone Buddha in the world. Learn how it is carved out of a cliff face at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi rivers.

Snap a few photos of the massive sculpture facing Mount Emei, part of the UNESCO-listed Mount Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha scenic areas. Get a different view of the statue by walking down the 9-turn staircase to the left of the statue. At the end of the tour, your guide escorts you to the Leshan railway station for your train to Chengdu, where your ride to your hotel is waiting.
