Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine

Umi Jigoku

Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) is one of Beppu's most famous hot spring attractions, known for its striking cobalt-blue geothermal pond created by naturally heated mineral-rich water. Although the steaming water reaches temperatures of nearly 100°C and is not suitable for swimming, visitors can stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, view other geothermal features, and experience one of the most iconic "Hells of Beppu," making it a must-visit destination for nature and sightseeing enthusiasts. Admission: Umi Jigoku requires an entrance ticket. Adults: ¥500 Children (primary school age): ¥250 Admission fees are subject to change.
