At Amano-Iwato Shrine in Takachiho Town, there is a cave made of rock, which is said to be the dwelling place of the deity who hid away in anger in the “Amano-Iwato Legend,” during which the world was plunged into darkness. Manai Falls is the symbol of Takachiho Gorge, especially beautiful during the fresh green and autumn foliage seasons, when the waterfall harmonises perfectly with the surrounding nature. Amano Iwato Shrine
