What you can expect

Board a bus/car in Shinjuku and travel comfortably to the Subashiri 5th Station at an altitude of 2,000 metres. The Subashiri route is remarkably different from other barren, ash-filled trails. Lush greenery extends up to 2,700 metres, offering the peaceful comfort of shaded canopies and birdsong.

Take a deep breath as you stroll along the tranquil forest path adorned with beautiful alpine flora, washing away the stress of daily life. As you calmly ascend at your own pace for about 2 to 3 hours, reach the open vistas of the 7th Station (Nanagome).

Here, the breathtaking sea of clouds stretching endlessly beneath your feet delivers a deep, overwhelming sense of emotion that words cannot fully capture. After descending, visit the historic Komitake Shrine, steeped in Tengu legends.

In its serene atmosphere, quietly give thanks for a safe journey and make a wish. Carrying the calm and deeply satisfying achievement of stepping onto the sacred mountain, return to Shinjuku around 7:30 PM, beautifully concluding a perfect day.
