DAY 1
The tour starts at 5:50 a.m. with pick-up from your respective hotels in central Puno. (This tour is generally for a small group of 5 to 10 people on some occasions.)
6-hour journey with stops to observe camelids, small lakes, and the Volcanoes Viewpoint on the opposite side of the canyon. We will visit the high Andean lagoons, natural villages, and the Volcanoes Viewpoint in Patapampa.
12:15 PM:: Check-in at the hotel, free time for lunch.
For logistical reasons, you will join another group led by a different guide to continue with the programme. Of course, some of the afternoon activities are optional.
3:00 PM: Depending on the guide’s arrangements, we may visit the hot springs, where we can enjoy the waters for approximately 1.5 hours.
5:30 PM: Return to your hotel
7:00 PM: Optionally, you can attend a dinner featuring folk dances along with the guide. This is an additional cost and is at the client’s expense.
Return to your hotel and overnight stay. End of Day 1
DAY 2:
5:50 AM Typically, the hotel you have booked will prepare breakfast for you early in the morning; you will have this approximate time until the pick-up time at your hotel.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., we will pick up passengers from their hotels in Chivay to visit the main attractions of the Colca Canyon, such as the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where we will marvel at the depth of the canyon, the flight of the condor, and the beautiful scenery.
10:00 AM: We will also visit other enchanting viewpoints, such as Wayrapunko and Antahuilque, where we will enjoy a spectacular view of the terraces.
9:30 AM After visiting the canyon, we will stop at other natural viewpoints and at the traditional village of Maca, where you can find local products and see the locals wearing their traditional attire. Afterwards, we will return to the town of Chivay.
12:00 pm Lunch in Chivay, accompanied by the guide. Optionally, you can enjoy a buffet lunch featuring traditional dishes (at your own expense). We will then begin our return journey to the city of Arequipa, making a few short stops along the way if requested.
4:30 PM Arrival in the city centre; drop-off near Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, marking the end of our tour.
