Discover the highlights of the Dominican Republic on this 2-day tour to colonial Santo Domingo and a breathtaking cruise to the white beaches of Saona Island. For this tour, we pick up clients from Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete and surrounding areas.

We start early in the morning, depending on your location, around 6am. The drive to Santo Domingo will take about 4 hours, with a breakfast break en route. We will have sandwiches and drinks for you. You can buy yourself coffee and hot snacks at the inn.

On the first day, we realise a full sightseeing tour of Santo Domingo: the spectacular cenotes of Los Tres Ojos, the monumental statue of Christopher Columbus and the old town - Zona Colonial. Here we will also have a typical Dominican lunch. Among other things on the agenda is the entrance to the 16th century cathedral. Another interesting attraction is the cable car ride over residential areas - you can see a cross-section of society, from the poor areas to the nice villas of the wealthier estates.

After the tour, we will lodge in the old town and you will have free time for further self-exploration: walks, coffee, or shopping. We recommend going to the Esplanade waterfront boulevard at sunset, when the capital's residents visit in large numbers.

A night out in Santo Domingo is a unique experience especially on weekends, when the streets, plazas and bars fill up with people and bustle with latin music.

On the second day, we'll have breakfast at the hotel and then head to the marina in Bayahibe, from where we'll start our cruise to Saona Island. The drive will take less than 2 hours, and then we will board a speedboat.

The programme of our tour involves visiting all the most interesting places on the island: in addition to the natural pool and the main beach, where most visitors arrive, we will also discover the wild coast of Cotubanama National Park, the mangrove forests where sea turtles can be found, the pier - a spot for observing colourful fish, the beach in the lagoon bay, and the fishing village of Mano Juan, where we will have lunch.

Along the way there will be time to relax on the beach, swim in the sea, take a walk, or take photos.

In the late afternoon we will set off back towards Puerto Plata, and the return journey will take about 5.5 hours. We will reach the north coast around 10 pm.
