Day 1: Pokhara – Kalapani Drive (Approx. 8–9 Hours)
Our guide and jeep pick you up with your name card from your hotel in Pokhara and your journey begins with a scenic jeep drive from Pokhara towards the mystical landscapes of Lower Mustang. As you travel along the Kali Gandaki River gorge, one of the deepest in the world, the scenery gradually shifts from lush green valleys to arid mountain deserts. Enjoy views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri peaks along the way.
Stop at traditional villages for short breaks and photography.
Pass through charming places like Tatopani (famous for its natural hot springs) before gradually reaching Kalapani, a picturesque mountain village surrounded by alpine forests and dramatic cliffs.
Overnight stay in Kalapani, where you can experience the blend of Tibetan and Thakali cultures.
Day 2: Explore Lower Mustang & Visit Lupra Village
After breakfast, your jeep adventure continues deeper into the Mustang region. The dry, wind-sculpted landscapes and wide-open valleys create an almost Tibetan-like atmosphere.
Explore Lower Mustang’s historic villages such as Marpha (famous for apple orchards and apple brandy).
Visit Jomsom, the administrative centre of Mustang, and enjoy its high-altitude charm.
Drive further to Lupra Village, one of the last remaining Bon villages in Nepal, where you’ll see ancient Bon monasteries and learn about pre-Buddhist spiritual practices.
Return to Jomsom or nearby village for an overnight stay, surrounded by Mustang’s unique desert beauty.
Day 3: Temple Lake Visit – Return to Pokhara by Jeep
On your final day, you’ll make an excursion to a sacred temple lake (commonly Dumba Lake, a turquoise gem nestled in the Mustang landscape).
Enjoy peaceful walks around the lake and learn about its religious significance for both Buddhists and Hindus.
Take in the stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains reflected in the lake.
Afterwards, begin your jeep journey back towards Pokhara, retracing the beautiful landscapes and stopping for breaks along the way.
Arrive in Pokhara in the evening, completing your unforgettable Mustang jeep adventure.
