Enjoy a unique cultural experience visiting two of the most iconic destinations in the Guatemalan highlands: Iximché and Chichicastenango, on a full-day tour packed with history, traditions, and colours.
The adventure starts early with a pick-up from your hotel in Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala. We'll head to Tecpán, where you'll have time to enjoy an optional breakfast before continuing on to Iximché, the ancient capital of the Kaqchikel kingdom and one of the most important archaeological sites in the country. With a local guide, you'll tour its plazas, temples, and ceremonial altars, learning about the legacy of the Mayan civilisation and its deep spiritual connection.
Later, we'll continue our route to Chichicastenango, home to Guatemala's most famous indigenous market. Upon arrival, you'll have time for lunch and then a guided tour of the market, where you can check out crafts, textiles, masks, and traditional products. The experience is complemented by a visit to the cemetery, known for its multicoloured tombs, and the Cathedral of Santo Tomás, a site where Mayan beliefs and Catholicism merge.
