What you can expect

This educational experience begins with an introduction to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, where participants study the events of August 9, 1945, and examine the scientific, historical, and human impact of the atomic bombing through curated exhibits and contextual explanation.
The programme continues with learning activities around the atomic bomb hypocenter area and Atomic Bomb Hypocenter Park, providing an opportunity to understand the scale and significance of the explosion at its closest point.
Participants then engage with the themes of remembrance and peace at Nagasaki Peace Park, exploring monuments and memorials dedicated to the victims and to the global hope for lasting peace.
The experience also includes study at Dr. Nagai’s Museum, where participants learn about medical responses, radiation research, and the ethical questions that emerged in the aftermath of the bombing.
Additional learning takes place at Sanno Shrine and nearby historical sites, allowing time for reflection, guided discussion, and a deeper understanding of Nagasaki’s history, resilience, and enduring message of peace.
