Explore the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka on a 4-day tour from Colombo. Visit the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, the Sigiriya rock fortress, the Dambulla golden cave temple, and the Kandy temple of the tooth relic.
Day 1: Colombo - Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Aukana
Meet and greet by a representative and drive to Anuradhapura. En route, stop at the Aukana Buddha statue. After lunch, take a tour of the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Visit the sacred bo-tree, Ruwanweli stupa, Jetawanarama, Abhayagiri, Samadhi Buddha, the Kings palace, and many other ancient monuments. Later in the day, visit the Mihintale ancient temple. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.
Day 2: Anuradhapura - Ritigala - Polonnaruwa
After breakfast, visit one of the oldest temples in the world, known as the Ritigala monastery. Later, drive to Polonnaruea and visit the 2nd oldest city of Sri Lanka with temples, Buddha states, palaces, gardens, and many more. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 3: Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy
Early in the morning, make a sunrise hike at the Sigiriya rock fortress and explore the Sigiriya paintings, water garden, and boulder garden. Later, have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Dambulla golden temple. In Dambulla, visit the Dambulla golden cave temple. Afterwards, drive to Kandy. En route, stop at a spice/herbal garden. Later in the afternoon, visit a Kandyan cultural show.
Day 4: Kandy - Colombo
After breakfast, visit the temple of the tooth relic, then the Royal Botanical Garden, followed by a Kandy sightseeing tour. Later, drive to Colombo. En route, stop at a tea factory and garden.
