Spend a relaxed day on the water and sail the Scharmützelsee at your own pace with a classic Dutch-style “Barnegat” family sailing dinghy. Just an hour from Berlin, the Scharmützelsee – often called the Brandenburg Riviera – stretches almost 10 km through the gentle hills of the Märkische Schweiz and is one of the cleanest, most scenic lakes in the region.
The Barnegat is an open, beginner-friendly family dinghy designed for up to 4 people. With its stable hull, simple rig, and generous cockpit, it's the ideal boat for a calm sailing day with family or friends – whether you want to glide along the shoreline, drop anchor in a quiet bay, or explore the lake from a fresh perspective. Life jackets are included for everyone on board.
Your booking gives you the boat for a full day, available daily between 10:00 and 18:00 from 1 May to 30 October. Pick-up is at the YAAS base at Parkallee 2 in Bad Saarow, where the VDWS-certified team will brief you and hand over the boat. A basic sailing licence (Segelgrundschein) is required to skipper the dinghy.
YAAS AM SEE is one of Europe's largest water-sports centres and a recognised VDWS sailing school – true to its motto: “Feel free, sense the forces of nature, be one with wind and waves.” Easy to reach from Berlin by RE1 train or car, this is your day on the water on one of Brandenburg's most beautiful lakes.
