After your afternoon rest, your guide will pick you up at 4:00 PM to head to Lamin Lodge, a rebuilt wooden structure at a local port hidden in lush mangroves. We will board a traditional boat with Lamin, a seasoned fisherman speaking the local language, and Sam, a younger expert guiding your trip. A 15-minute cruise takes us to the Gambia River's largest tributary. Here, we will drop anchor, cast traditional local lines, and enjoy refreshing drinks while fishing until the sun sets over the water. Upon returning, you can choose to gift your catch to the guides and head back to your hotel, or embark on a unique culinary adventure. If you stay, we will take a short drive to the nearby Abuko Nature Reserve. There, the respected Elder Ranger will welcome us and help prepare, clean, and cook the fish we just caught. Sharing this freshly cooked meal under the trees in the heart of the Gambian wilderness provides the absolute perfect, authentic conclusion to your afternoon.
