Start the hike is along the dirt road that leads from Piano Provenzana to the summit craters of the volcano, and cross the eruptive fracture of the eruption of October 27, 2002, the route of “Monte Nero-Timpa Rossa”.

Stop at the volcanic morpho structures called Hornitos, the name coming from the Spanish “Little Furnace”. Travel along the pyroclastic cones of the 2002 eruption until reaching the maximum altitude of 2100 metres on the rim of the craters. Climb a sandy channel to the starting point in Piano Provenzana.
