Departure to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Transport by Bus Gran Turismo. Excursion with local multilanguage guide. During the trip, approximately one-hour drive, the guide will entertain you with an in-depth historical-geological and volcanological explanation of Etna and you will see different types of vegetation such as: citrus groves, vineyards, chestnut groves and pine forests. Arrival at Rifugio Sapienza (2.000 metres) . You will have about two and a half hours in which you can independently explore the Silvestri Craters, or you can have free time available to buy souvenirs or take a nice walk. Possibility of reaching the maximum altitude allowed by the relevant authorities in the summit area, currently set at 2.750 metres, which can be reached by cable car and 4x4 minibus. Ticket price not included, to be paid on spot at the Etna Cable Car ticket offices. Return to Taormina in the early afternoon.
