Gottfried Semper is the architect of world-famous buildings such as the Vienna Hofburg and the Dresden Opera House. But he also designed the main building of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, today's ETH Zurich. Follow in Semper's footsteps with us! On the tour through the monumental building from the 1860s, you will learn more about the life and work of the architecture professor. The highlight: a visit to the newly restored Semper Auditorium, which is not open to the public. The room is richly furnished, full of details, with stucco decorations and golden contours, as well as canvas paintings made in Paris. The ceiling features one of the largest paintings from the mid-19th century, covering an area of 180 square metres. Experience a spectacular late-Classical gem full of symbolism!
