What you can expect

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires for a day spent watching rugged horse-riding gauchos, tucking into a delicious barbecue lunch, and strolling around the historic town of San Antonio de Areco. Get up-close looks at traditional living in the pampas on this immersive excursion.

Get picked up directly from your hotel and set a course for Argentina's sprawling pastoral landscapes, the pampas. Roll by never-ending fields of waving grass and scrub-covered hillsides until you hit the quaint streets of San Antonio de Areco. When you arrive, hop out and explore the village with your knowledgable guide. Listen to stories about the area's history as a meeting place for nearby gauchos, and then head to a local estancia for a thrilling performance and tasty lunch.

At La Estancia, immerse yourself in the rough-and-tumble lifestyles of these Argentine ranchers, taking the chance to ride a horse, snacking on cold cuts and cheese, and watching a spectacular performance of riding and roping skills. Wrap up your adventure with a freshly prepared barbecue lunch and then savour your scenic ride back to the city.
