The Gardens of Villa Togni already Averoldi tell six centuries of history. Born in the fourteenth century as a fortress, the Villa hosted the Gussago Conspiracy in 1426, paving the way for Brescia to enter the Republic of Venice. After five centuries under the Averoldi family, in 1906, Cav. Giulio Togni began its restoration with engineer Dabbeni and landscape architect Pierre André. For four generations, the Togni family has resided there continuously. The route, restored to excellence by a recent restoration PNRR (2024), crosses two environments : The English Park (early 1900s): a well-kept landscape design rich in valuable trees. The French Garden (18th century): a rare formal structure that has survived intact, made unique by seventeen trompe-l'œil frescoes. To protect the site, the visit includes full access to the English Park only. The French Garden is entirely admirable from a dedicated viewpoint along the way.
