India is famous for its culture and strong traditions. One of the reliefs of Hindu religion, Elephanta Cave, is one of the destinations that you must visit while in India. This destination near Mumbai has been recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Visiting Elephanta Cave located in West India is an activity you must do while in Mumbai.
Although, a number of caves have been destroyed during the Portuguese period and some have been damaged in various ways, Elephanta Cave still presents a rich ancient historical heritage to tourists. More and more people are visiting Elephanta Cave to watch the Architectural masterpieces preserved in Elephanta caves.
Itinerary
Tour will be started at 9 a.m or 1 pm. The order of the itinerary is subject to change, this will be dependant on the traffic on the day.
- Pick Up from pick up location (airport/cruise pier/hotel/residence house)
- Take a ferry cruise to the Elephanta Caves (~50 min)
- Disembark the ferry, walk or mini train (add-on fee) to the foot of the hill at the Elephanta Caves
- Exploring the Elephanta Caves (40 min)
- Short walk to the top of the Island
- Photo opportunities at Cannon Hill
- Back to the port to take the ferry and go back to Gateway of India
- Enjoy the drive back passing landmarks (Fort, Colaba)
- Heading back to the drop off point
