Discover one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Yucatan and enjoy an authentic experience in contact with Mayan culture.
You will visit the archaeological area of Ek Balam, one of the few that still allows you to climb some of the structures, including the majestic Acropolis. The name Ek Balam, in the Mayan language, means “black jaguar”, and during the visit you will be accompanied by an Italian-speaking guide who will tell you about the history and the secrets of this extraordinary place.
You will then continue with a visit to the Mayan community of Hubiku, where you will enter a typical local house and discover the meaning of Mayan numbers and traditions that are still alive today.
During the experience, you will watch the preparation of handmade tortillas and taste the famous Cochinita Pibil, one of the most representative dishes of Yucatecan cuisine. Local honey and tequila tastings are also included.
The experience continues with entry to an underground cave, an evocative environment reminiscent of the ancient Mayan underworld. Inside there is a cenote where you can immerse yourself in its fresh, crystal-clear water.
Lunch will be a buffet at a restaurant serving regional Yucatecan cuisine.
A comprehensive tour that combines history, nature and traditions, perfect for those who want to discover the real Mexico.
