Day 1: Dunhuang – Mingsha Mountain & Crescent Spring – Mogao Caves – Dunhuang

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel, train station, airport, or agreed city location in Dunhuang. Head to Mingsha Mountain & Crescent Spring, a 5A scenic area famous for its singing sand dunes and crescent-shaped spring in the desert. Spend about 2 hours exploring this unique landscape.

After lunch, visit the Mogao Caves, renowned for their Buddhist murals and sculptures. Enjoy admission, a shuttle bus ride, and an explanation service according to the reservation arrangement. Spend about 2.5 hours discovering the caves.

Stay overnight in Dunhuang. In the evening, enjoy free time to explore the Shazhou Night Market or choose optional local performances at your own expense.

Day 2: Dunhuang – Guazhou – Son of the Earth – Jiayuguan Fort – First Beacon Tower

After breakfast, drive towards Jiayuguan through Yumen and Guazhou, enjoying the Gobi scenery. If available, stop at the Son of the Earth and Wu Jie desert art installations for about 30 minutes.

Visit Jiayuguan Fort, a UNESCO-listed Great Wall site and important Silk Road military pass. Spend about 2 hours exploring this historic fort. Continue to the First Beacon Tower near the Taolai River cliff and spend about 40 minutes taking in the views.

End your tour with a drop-off in Jiayuguan city, at your hotel, station, or another city location.
