Our sundowner on “Skywalk” - enjoy the evening atmosphere on Phoenix-West
Just imagine it: You've finished work and instead of couch or cooking, something completely different is on the agenda. In a small, very personal group, it goes to heavenly heights - over 99 steps to the 26 metre high Skywalk. Up there we will treat you to a glass of wine, which you can enjoy in peace while the sunset reveals your spectacular views over the site of the former ironworks and Dortmund's sights in a thousand shades of yellow and red…
The tour starts in a small group on Phoenixplatz with the aim of enjoying the sunset on the Skywalk - a well paved path over the blast furnace gas pipeline. While a lot of information is told about this lost place from times long past, unexpected views of the blast furnace plant, which is largely a listed building, are offered. The first blast furnace tapping took place in 1854 and the last in 1998. A glass of wine awaits you at 26 metres as a reward and to enjoy. This and the even more spectacular views of Dortmund's landmarks and nature in the sunset is the highlight of this very special (celebration) evening.
