Overview

We'll begin right in the middle of Denver's historic Ballpark District, home to Coors Field and the Colorado Rockies.
First up, you'll dig into a gourmet smoked sausage made with locally-sourced elk, a favourite of the late Anthony Bourdain.
Next, you'll learn what exactly green chilli is and why we put it on pretty much everything!
As we make our way into Lower City centre (aka “LoDo”), you'll hear how wild the Wild West really was and see what remains of our classiest bordello.
Did you know that Denver was recently named the top pizza city in America? At our next stop, you'll discover an innovative slice!
After which, you'll explore local architectural icons like the Ice House, Union Station, and the Oxford Hotel as you stroll through the oldest part of The Mile High City.
We'll treat you to a sweet finish with a traditional cannoli filled with creamy ricotta cheese and pistachios.
As with all our tours, there's also our secret dish, revealed only on the day of your tour.

Activity itinerary

Ballpark District

  • 1h
Ballpark is a lively area centred on Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies baseball team, with views of the mountains from some upper seats. Around the stadium, brewpubs and pizzerias mix with laid-back jazz clubs and rooftop bars with expansive views.

1946A Market St (Pass by)

This building was constructed by madam Jennie Rogers in 1889 and became the classiest bordello in the Rocky Mountain West. Another famous pleasure queen, Mattie Silks, operated the business from 1911 until it was closed by federal edict in about 1915. The building was a Buddhist temple and warehouse from 1920 until 1998.

2001 Blake St (Pass by)

Coors Field is the ballpark of Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies. Opened in 1995, the park is located in Denver's Lower City centre area, two blocks from Union Station. The stadium has a capacity of 50,144 people for baseball.

Union Station

  • 1h
Found at the heart of Denver, Lower City centre - aka LoDo - is the perfect blend of nostalgia and modernity. This bustling area is home to nearly 100 restaurants, clubs, galleries, shops, and hospitality businesses, making it the perfect place to explore for residents and tourists alike. LoDo’s rich history dates back to 1858, when gold was discovered at the confluence of the South Platte River and Cherry Creek.

Dairy Block

  • 10m
This historic block located in Denver’s LoDo area was once home to Windsor Dairy, and is now a vibrant micro-district that boasts 15 shops, 19 restaurants, seven bars, a luxury co-working space, and a 172-room boutique hotel.

Denver Union Station

  • 10m
From its original 1881 incarnation as the Denver Union Depot to its 2014 rebirth as the cultural heart of the Mile High City, Union Station has taken many different forms over the years. Today it serves as Denver's main railway station and central transport hub as well as a vibrant space for staying, eating, gathering and shopping.

The Oxford Hotel

  • 10m
The Oxford Hotel opened in 1891 and is now Denver’s oldest surviving hotel. Developed by brewer Adolph Zang and designed by architect Frank Edbrooke, the hotel originally provided a luxurious stay for travellers passing through nearby Union Station. After being restored and revitalised in the early 1980s by Charles Calloway and Dana Crawford, the Oxford became one of Denver’s first modern boutique hotels and an anchor of Lower Downtown’s revival.

Rockmount Ranch Wear Mfg Co

  • 10m
Rockmount Ranch Wear was started in Denver by “Papa” Jack Weil in 1946. Over the years the company has played a leading role in the development of Western wear, as it was the first company to put snaps on Western shirts and the first to commercially produce bolo ties. The Smithsonian and the Autry Museum of the American West have Rockmount items in their collections. The company is still family owned, and Jack was the world’s oldest CEO, going to work every day until his passing at 107.
