Begin your private half-day sightseeing tour at Puputan Square in the city centre. This classic urban park draws many locals and is a great place to learn about Bali’s colonial history. Next, head to the Pura Jagatnatha and Bali Museum, located near the former royal palace of Denpasar. Spend 30-40 minutes exploring its collection and the four main buildings inside the museum that showcase Indonesia’s rich history and cultural heritage.
Next, visit the colourful pasar (Indonesian for ‘market’), where locals sell their products and haggle over prices. Pasar Badung is Bali’s largest food market and features fruits, spices and other edible goods sourced from the entire island. Sample different kinds of local food and exotic fruits that you have never seen or eaten before.
Your last stop is the Bajra Sandhi Monument, a famous monument and museum, which is located in the capital of Bali, Denpasar. This monument of the Balinese struggle against the Dutch colonists is located in Jalan Raya Puputan Niti Mandala, in front of Denpasar Governor’s office.
