Begin your adventure in Porto Novo, where you'll meet your local guide and set off on a scenic drive along the legendary Estrada da Corda, a masterpiece of engineering that winds through the mountains.

Make your first stop at the impressive Cratere da Cova, a dormant volcano transformed into lush, fertile farmland. Next, ascend to the majestic Pico da Cruz, one of the island's highest peaks surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests, offering panoramic views of the ocean and neighbouring São Vicente.

Continue your journey across the spectacular Delgadinho ridge, enjoying panoramic views over the surrounding deep valleys. Descend towards the vibrant town of Ribeira Grande and explore the lush, green landscapes of Xôxô.

Pass through the picturesque village of Fontainhas, famous for its colourful houses perched on cliffs, before arriving at the charming fishing village of Ponta do Sol. Here, take a break for lunch (not included, but your guide will gladly recommend a fantastic local restaurant serving fresh local fish and traditional dishes).

In the afternoon, explore the lush Vale do Paúl, the green heart of the island, walking among agricultural terraces covered with sugarcane, banana trees, and papayas. Stop at a traditional trapiche to learn about the production of Cape Verdean grogue and enjoy a tasting.
