What you can expect

Step into the magic of Mexico’s most beloved tradition — Día de Muertos!
Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Rancho La Rueda, where our local hosts invite you to take part in the making of Pan de Muerto, Mexico’s symbolic Day of the Dead bread. You’ll knead and shape your own loaf before baking it in a rustic wood-fired oven — just like generations before.

While your bread bakes, explore a charming collection of antique tools and family heirlooms, each telling stories of rural life from decades past. Then, discover the meaning behind the Day of the Dead arch, the floral portal that symbolises the return of loved ones’ spirits.

Next, wander through vibrant fields of marigold and Santa Teresa flowers, the golden heart of this tradition. Take stunning photos among the blooms, meet the ranch’s friendly horses, and soak in the tranquil countryside atmosphere.

Finally, return to enjoy your freshly baked bread paired with traditional “café de olla,” refreshing lemon water, or a sip of local mezcal. This five-hour cultural and sensory experience — guided by a local cultural expert and the ranch owner — is a heartfelt celebration of memory, flavour, and Mexican heritage.
