What you can expect

  • Depart Darwin early in the morning and head to Arnhem Land, a region where indigenous culture remains dominant. Stop at Coroboree Park Tavern for breakfast and a toilet break, then continue to Aurora Kakadu, South Alligator, and Jabiru for pickups.

    Upon arrival in Arnhem Land, meet your traditional Aboriginal guide and embark on a guided walking tour of Injalak Hill. Discover excellent examples of rock art, some of the best in Western Arnhem Land, and take in breathtaking views of the floodplains and escarpment.

    After the tour, visit the award-winning Injalak Arts and Crafts Centre in Gunbalanya. Watch traditional Aboriginal people painting and see women weaving pandanus baskets. Browse or purchase goods from this non-profit Aboriginal organisation.

    Enjoy a picnic lunch atop Injalak Hill, surrounded by stunning scenery of billabongs, birds, and escarpments. In the afternoon, relax with tea, coffee, and a snack before returning to Darwin.
