Discover a different side of Crikvenica on this easy and scenic hiking tour to the historic village of Kotor. The houses that stand there today were built during the 18th and 19th centuries, but the history of the village dates back to the 14th century.
Starting from Crikvenica, follow a gentle trail through Mediterranean nature, gradually ascending towards the old settlement of Kotor. Along the way, enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea, nearby islands, and the Vinodol Valley.
At the top, explore the remains of the old Kotor village and the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude Thaddeus, as well as the ruins of St. George’s Church. Take a short break to soak in the peaceful atmosphere, stunning surroundings and rich history of the area.
From there, continue downhill towards the unique Mediterranean Labyrinth of Love, a hidden gem surrounded by nature. On the way, pass by the “Gromača” dry stone wall with gun turrets, one of the rare remains of the military architecture from the period of World War One in the region of Crikvenica.
After visiting the labyrinth, return to Crikvenica on a relaxed trail by the river, completing a perfect short outdoor escape. This experience is ideal for nature lovers, casual hikers, couples, family-friendly and anyone looking to combine light adventure with authentic local culture.
Make your experience even more memorable by adding a traditional local tasting after the hike. After returning to Crikvenica, relax at a konoba (traditional Croatian restaurant), where you’ll enjoy a platter of authentic Croatian prosciutto and cheese, paired with a glass of local wine - the perfect reward after your hike.
