Welcome to Strataridakis Winery, Europe's southernmost winery, set in the village of Kastelliana in the heart of Heraklion's countryside. Your experience begins at the winery entrance, where you'll be welcomed by our team and introduced to the storey of our estate: a family that has farmed this land since 1954, and has been crafting award-winning Cretan wine since 2006.
Over 75 minutes, you'll explore what makes this corner of Crete so unique: the southernmost terroir on the continent, shaped by intense sun, dry summers, and soils unlike anywhere else in Europe. Each tasting is intimate and unhurried, guided by someone who knows these wines personally. Light snacks are included throughout to complement what's in your glass.
We offer three tasting experiences, so you can choose the depth that suits you:
Essential Tasting — 4 wines
An introduction to the Strataridakis range. You'll taste two whites, one rosé, and one red from our core collection, a perfect starting point for discovering Cretan wine.
Classic Tasting — 6 wines
A broader journey through our lineup: three whites, one rosé, and two reds. Ideal for guests who want to explore the full range of varieties and styles we work with.
Premium Tasting — 8 wines
Everything in the Classic Tasting, plus two wines from our limited-production premium range: one red and one white made in small quantities and rarely found outside the winery. For those who want to taste Crete at its most refined.
All tastings are by appointment and take place at the winery in Kastelliana, approximately 40 minutes from Heraklion city centre. The experience ends at the winery, where you're also welcome to purchase bottles to take home.
