What you can expect

Embark on a private tour of the Cotopaxi Volcano with horseback riding and hiking. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Volcanoes Avenue, go horseback riding in the Cotopaxi National Park, and hike to the José Ribas high camp.

Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Quito. Drive through the Volcanoes Avenue, admiring the beautiful landscapes of the Andes. See potato farms and cattle ranches as you make your way to the Cotopaxi National Park.

Arrive at the park and begin your horseback riding adventure. Follow your guide on a 1.5-hour ride through the park, taking in the views of the surrounding mountains.

After your horseback riding adventure, drive to the car park and begin your hike to the José Ribas high camp. Hike from 14,763 feet to 15,958 feet to get to the high camp and have the best view of the Andes.

If you don't want to hike to the high camp, there is another option to hike in the Limpiopungo Lagoon at 12,800 feet. This is a flat and easy-going trail.

After your hike, enjoy a taste of local gastronomy and feed the llamas. Finally, drive back to your hotel in Quito.
