Overview

Depart from Cortina d’Ampezzo for a private e-bike tour to the Fanes Falls, to be experienced independently and without other external participants.

The loop route measures about 25.8 km (16 mi), with 410 m of positive elevation gain (1,345 ft) and elevations between 1,179 and 1,469 m. The level is medium-easy and the indicative duration is 2.5–3.5 hours, excluding stops. You will ride on cycle paths, secondary roads, forest roads and easy dirt roads, with short stretches open to traffic. The tour takes place entirely by bike.

You will enter the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites, crossing forests, streams and bridges, to the Fanes valley. The most suggestive moment will be the arrival at the gorge and the Fanes Falls, where you can stop for a break and some photographs.

The recommended period is from June to September, preferably departing in the morning. In case of bad weather or unsafe conditions, you can choose a new date or receive a full refund

Activity itinerary

Cortina d'Ampezzo (Pass by)

Cortina d'Ampezzo is the most famous resort in the Dolomites, surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountains in the world, today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, when it was a small mountain village dedicated to trade and pastoralism. Today it is internationally known for winter sports, summer hiking and its elegant centre, which combines Alpine tradition and exclusive atmosphere.

Castello di Botestagno

  • 10m
The Castle of Botestagno stands on the remains of an ancient fortification perched on a rocky outcrop along the Ampezzo Valley. Its origins probably date back to the 11th century and, thanks to its strategic position, it controlled the passage between Cadore and Tyrol. Today there are still impressive ruins immersed in the woods that tell the medieval past of the valley and offer splendid views of the surrounding Dolomites.

Cascate di Fanes

  • 10m
The Fanes Falls are among the most spectacular natural wonders of the Ampezzo Dolomites. Formed by the waters of the Fanes stream, they develop with suggestive jumps between rock walls and centuries-old forests. Reachable through scenic trails, they offer the rare opportunity to walk even behind the veil of water of the main waterfall, giving a unique experience immersed in the nature of the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
