What you can expect
Day 1: Corfu – Meteora (Kalabaka)
After experiencing Corfu independently, your tour leader will pick you up at your hotel to begin your journey. Drive towards Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient Greek archaeological site, considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, including multiple historical monuments.
Then, drive towards Meteora, also part of UNESCO World Heritage, dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. The monasteries are built on top of the spectacular rock formations, creating a beautiful and impressive sight. Overnight in Kalabaka.
Day 2: Meteora – Ioannina – Gjirokaster (Albania)
Head to Ioannina to wander through the cobbled streets of the old town. Visit Ioannina Castle, dating back to the Byzantine era. Within the castle walls, find narrow streets and historic buildings. Have some free time to stroll through the old town of Ioannina for a traditional lunch before driving towards the “Stone City,” Gjirokaster. Overnight in Gjirokaster.
Day 3: Gjirokaster
Visit Gjirokaster, part of UNESCO World Heritage, situated in Southern Albania. Gjirokastra resembles a fortified city where every single house is like a small fortress, considered as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Balkans. Overnight in Gjirokaster.
Day 4: Gjirokaster – Berat
After breakfast, head to Berat, known as the town of 1001 windows, part of UNESCO World Heritage. Berat is also known as the birthplace of Onufri, the famous painter of churches all over the Balkans. Continue the tour and visit the Gorica Neighbourhood. Overnight in Berat.
Day 5: Berat – Drilon – Tushemisht – St. Naum (N. Macedonia) – Ohrid
Cross the border towards N Macedonia but not before making a stop at the national park of Drilon. Later, stop at St Naum, situated right at the source of River Crni Drim, which flows through Lake Ohrid. This monastery complex is part of the National Park Galicica and belongs to one of the strictly protected areas. Overnight in Ohrid.
Day 6: Ohrid (N. Macedonia) – Tirana (Albania)
Visit Ohrid, indicated as one of the oldest human settlements in all of Europe. Ohrid city and Ohrid Lake are part of UNESCO World Heritage since 1980. Visit the famous viewpoint of the church of St. John, the church of St. Nicolas, and the mosque Halveti Hayati Tekke.
Today the city is famous for its architecture, churches, the castle on top of the city, the amphitheatre, and the beautiful view of the lake surrounded by mountains and the pearls. Drive towards Tirana, the capital of Albania. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 7: Tirana
Discover Tirana with your local companion to enjoy a unique experience in the city while learning more about the city's culinary treasures. Try Byrek, introduce you to the country's rich coffee culture, sit for traditional Albanian lunch, and wash it all down with Albanian Raki. Visit BUNKART, one of the most interesting museums in Tirana.
