Discover medieval Copenhagen as night falls on a unique tour designed for those who want to learn about the city's history and also experience its most authentic atmosphere. We'll stroll along ancient cobblestone streets, hidden squares, and corners steeped in history as the city's pace changes and the lights of the historic centre come on.
During the sightseeing tour, we'll visit iconic places such as the Round Tower, Gråbrødretorv (Grey Friars' Square), Copenhagen Cathedral, the old university, and several of the city's oldest streets, also passing through areas with historic bars, cafés, and the most local and alternative nightlife scene.
We'll talk about the Middle Ages, the Vikings, major fires, Danish fun facts, urban legends, and historical figures like Ole Rømer, all presented in an entertaining, engaging, and dynamic way.
Our tour begins at Kulturvet, or Coal Square, which will be the gateway to our walk, to reach the second stop, the Round Tower. Today, it's a tourist attraction, but in ancient times it was one of the most advanced observatories of its era, a place where many observers, amateurs, and astronomers made numerous discoveries. From there, we'll begin to experience the old medieval architecture along with anecdotes and recommendations. We'll talk about the Reformation and education when we reach the Latin Quarter, where professors and students lived their lives around the residences and the university. We'll experience one of the city's most alternative areas, full of bars and an incredible atmosphere. We'll pass by the City Hall and, after introducing it, we'll end the tour in front of the majestic and iconic Tivoli, the second-oldest amusement park still in operation. We have designed this tour so that you'll really take home a great feeling and a desire to return to this beautiful city.
