What you can expect

I'm not a chef, and that matters.

I'm Alessio, and Casa di Alessio is my home in a quiet neighbourhood in Milan called Cimiano. A few evenings a week, I open my home to a small group of guests - never more than eight - and we spend a few hours cooking and eating together.

This is not a class. There’s no pressure, no performance. Just a real evening in a Milan home, the way food is meant to be shared.

The evening

The experience lasts about 3 hours, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (but we might take it a bit slower and enjoy some extra time together, depending on the group).

You’ll arrive at my apartment, take off your coat, and settle in with a glass of prosecco, or a soft drink if you prefer. This is the moment where everything slows down and the group comes together.

We’ll start by preparing tiramisù, so it has time to rest properly. You’ll see how it’s really made: simple ingredients, done right.

Then we move on to the main part: fresh handmade ravioli with ricotta and spinach, served with butter and sage. You can get fully hands-on or just watch, ask questions, and enjoy the process, both are completely fine.

While we cook, we talk. About food, about Milan, about the small details that make Italian cooking what it is. These are the conversations that don’t happen in restaurants.

Around 8:30 PM, we sit down and eat together. Wine is served throughout the dinner, and non-alcoholic options like water and soft drinks are always available.

To finish, we enjoy the tiramisù we prepared earlier, followed by coffee.

By the end of the evening, you’ll likely leave full, relaxed, and having connected with the people around the table.

The food

The menu is fully vegetarian and uses seasonal ingredients from the local market.

Crostini with seasonal toppings
Handmade ravioli (ricotta & spinach, butter & sage)
Traditional tiramisù

Lactose-free options are available on request.

After the experience, you’ll receive all the recipes by email, exactly as we make them.

The space

The experience takes place in my home: a real, lived-in apartment with an open kitchen and living room.

This is not a studio or a staged venue. It’s where I live.

My two cats, Lilith and Boomerang, may join us during the evening. They’re friendly and curious, but if you have a strong allergy, this experience may not be suitable.

Location

Cimiano is a residential neighbourhood in Milan, and Casa di Alessio is about a 7-minute walk from the metro (green line), and around 15 minutes from the city centre.

It’s not a tourist area, and that’s exactly the point.
