Cocora Valley Hiking Tour + Acaime Reserve (14 km / approx. 5 to 6 hours)
✅ Start of the tour:
We will meet at the main park in Salento or in the Cocora Valley (depending on your location or the agreed meeting point).
From there, we will begin our hike through the iconic Cocora Valley, home to the wax palm, Colombia's national tree. Here, you will have time to take photos and enjoy the breathtaking views.
✅ Hanging Bridges and Cloud Forest:
We will begin our ascent by crossing several jungle bridges over the Quindío River. We will hike along a beautiful trail surrounded by cloud forest, with opportunities to observe local flora and fauna.
✅ Arrival at the Acaime Reserve (House of Hummingbirds):
After about 2 to 2.5 hours of hiking, we will arrive at the Acaime Reserve, where you can observe various species of hummingbirds and enjoy a hot drink (agua de panela with cheese or traditional coffee).
✅ Break and return:
After resting in Acaime, we will begin the descent along the same trail or, if you prefer, we can return via an alternative route (depending on weather conditions and group preferences).
During the descent, we will continue to enjoy unique views of the Cocora Valley and its mountains.
✅ End of the tour:
The hike concludes back in the Cocora Valley, where you will have time for lunch (optional) or to rest before returning to Salento.
