What you can expect

  • In the heart of the tropical nature of Goyave, enjoy an authentic immersion in the very history of cocoa alongside Mikael, founder of Natibwa and a passionate cultural mediator. This experience invites you to discover all the stages of cocoa processing, from the fresh pod to traditional chocolate.

During the tour, you will be in a Creole garden where fruit trees and iconic Caribbean plants grow. You will discover the secrets of cocoa and the drying and roasting techniques, and then take part in a hands-on demonstration of each step up to the making of a traditional cocoa bar.

The experience concludes with the preparation and tasting of a traditional plant-based hot chocolate, in a friendly atmosphere that encourages discussion about the history of cocoa, Guadeloupean traditions, and local expertise.

With cultural discovery, hands-on demonstrations and gourmet food tastings, this workshop offers an authentic and enriching experience for travellers who want to explore a little-known aspect of Guadeloupe's heritage.
