What you can expect

When people describe Skopje, they often call it an open-air museum—and not without reason. The city is adorned with historical buildings, ancient remains, bridges, statues, churches, mosques, and much more.

Upon arriving in Skopje, our tour guide will bring the city’s rich history to life as you walk through its most beautiful landmarks. Experience Skopje from top to bottom, beginning at the Kale Fortress and ending at the Old Railway Station. Along the way, you will see the famous Macedonia Square, the Stone Bridge, the Old Bazaar, several mosques, and the Church of St. Spas, renowned for its extraordinary iconostasis and remarkable fresco paintings.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the vibrant city on your own. You can visit the traces left by the devastating 1963 earthquake and step inside the Memorial House of none other than Mother Teresa, Skopje’s most famous native.

Interesting fact: Did you know that the Roman emperor Justinian I was born in Tauresium, located in the Skopje region? He was the only Byzantine emperor who succeeded in reconquering Rome.
