A wonderfully Austrian way to spend your Christmas or New Year is going to a traditional christmas market and watching an elegant classical concert of musical masterpieces by composers Mozart and Straus. The setting is the world-famous Schönbrunn Palace where you can delight in the sophisticated surroundings of the palace’s Orangery.
Since the time of the legendary Habsburg dynasty, the palace has been the location of choice for musical activities, and even hosted the legendary Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself during the premiere of his masterpiece The Impresario.
The world-renowned Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra performs the most beautiful works of Mozart and another famous Austrian composer, Johann Strauss. Sit back and revel in the festive arias and duets from the operas of Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflote, and Don Giovanni. The orchestra, tastefully accompanied by 2 opera singers and 2 elegant ballet dancers, then plays well-liked arias and waltzes such as “Die Fledermaus” and “The Blue Danube”.
