Welcome to Bristol! I hope you’re having a grand old time. Can I interest you in a tour of the Harbourside? We’ll take in the sights you’ve seen online, but also delve into the rich 700-year history of the harbour that launched the scramble to The New World, captured two rivers, built the world’s first ocean liner, and in its later years remodelled itself into a modern destination for tourists and locals alike. You’ll hear about how the harbour was built, what life was like at its peak and the struggle to keep it intact in the face of modernisation and the march of larger, deepwater ports.
This tour will take about 90 minutes and is just over 1.1 miles (1.8KM) of mostly flat-land walking. There are occasional cobblestones and a road crossing. There will be a cafe at the end where you can take in the harbourside with fresh coffee and pastries (not included in the price).
