Drive your own team of huskies with this extraordinary experience, a must-do for anyone visiting Northern Norway. The dog sleigh has been used for centuries throughout the Arctic region, mainly for travel, hunting and transport and now you get to take part in this historical and cultural, fun activity.

The tour departs from the city centre of Tromsø from where you will be picked up for a scenic 50-minute transfer to the camp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival at our camp in Breivikeidet, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. We will provide you with polar insulated suits, boots, hats and mittens before heading out on our dogsledding adventure. Your guide will go through the safety instructions and show you the basics of driving the sleigh.
Two people will share one sleigh: one as a driver and the other one as a passenger, and you will get the chance to swap places halfway through the tour. This will provide everyone with the opportunity to experience the life of a dog musher and to take all the photographs they want while being a passenger.
After listening carefully to the demonstration and a few minutes of practice, you will enjoy driving on the open fields and inside the forest trails.
After your dog sledding ride and arriving back at the camp, you are invited into our lavvo (a traditional sami tent), where you can enjoy a hot drink and cake around the campfire. Once you changed back to your normal clothes, and waved one last goodbye to the huskies, it is time to board back the bus to Tromsø.
