What you can expect

  • A trip to the Ak-Sai Canyons is a journey to the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, to the valley of forgotten rivers, and relaxation on a wild beach.

    Begin your adventure with a morning departure from Bishkek. Stop at Boom Gorge for a coffee break and breakfast, and take in the stunning scenery of this open-air geological museum.

    Continue to the Ak-Sai Canyons, known as the “Valley of Forgotten Rivers.” Walk through the clay labyrinths and ascend to a panoramic viewpoint at 1800 metres. Enjoy time for meditation and a photo session against the backdrop of the fiery red cliffs and the clear blue water of Issyk-Kul.

    Next, head to a wild beach on the southern coast of Issyk-Kul. Relax with a picnic on the shore, stroll along the sandy spit, and take in the views of the ice-free lake.

    On the way back to Bishkek, stop again at Boom Gorge for evening tea and a snack before returning to the city.
