Know before you book

  • I recommend you to bring: Sunblock, sunglasses, towel, water shoes, bottle of water, hat/cap and cell phone with a water proof bag.

What you can expect

On this 2.5 hours adventure, you will be pic up at 7 am at the lobby of your hotel, then we will drive you approximately 30 minutes to get to San Jose Ixtapa Lagoon.

You will then get on the kayak for one hour in the calm lagoon of the San Jose Ixtapa, every 10 minutes or so, we will stop to see the different kinds of birds that will be on trees, flying, swimming or standing on the side of the lagoon.

After the kayaking we will do a 20-minute walk among the back of the lagoon where the mangrove trees, coconut trees grow to look for more birds.

We will also walk for 10 minutes on the beach to take a look at it and take pictures.

Our last stop will be at a view point in Vicente Guerrero Nature Preserve Park to look for iguanas, lagoon turtles, crocodiles and more birds.

Most of this experience will take place in an estuary, only surrounded by mangrove trees, coconut trees and a nice secluded beach, without any hotels or restaurant or houses build around it.

The kayaking does not require lots of skills or physical effort, it is easy to manoeuvre/control the kayak and the estuary does not have a strong current.
