The tour, led by passionate kebab experts, always starts at 12:00 and 16:00 in the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg and lasts about 3 hours. The tour is conducted in English and German.
It then goes along the important Oderberger Straße to the Wall patrol strip and follows this exciting part of Berlin to Bernauer Straße, a former border patrol strip. From there, we will take a relaxed walk through the Gleimtunnel and Mauerpark towards the kebab shop, which is a bit hidden just behind the Mauerpark.
After everyone has eaten the homemade döner kebab with homemade bread and sauces (vegetarian or vegan options are also available), the tour continues to Schönhauser Allee, where it ends again near Eberswalder Straße.
There are delicious surprises on the tour, and the connection between the kebab tradition, its development, and the city's history is brought together and made clear. With funny anecdotes but also serious places like the Berlin Wall, you will learn how the kebab became one of Berlin's most important landmarks and go home with a full stomach.
