First, you will meet your local guide and stroll through the streets of Beppu, where you will learn about the origins of its hot spring culture, renowned worldwide for its exceptional volume of spring water. In the backstreets, you will find traditional buildings and small public baths still used by local residents, offering a glimpse into everyday life deeply rooted in hot spring traditions. Next, you will visit the dramatic “Jigoku” (hell) area, where steam billows up from the ground, creating a striking natural spectacle (an admission fee applies if you choose to enter). Along the way, you will stop by a local shopping street, where you may have the opportunity to sample specialities and light snacks prepared using hot spring steam, providing a taste of local food culture. Finally, the tour will take you to a spot with panoramic views over the entire hot spring town, where you can enjoy the unique scenery of Beppu.
