What you can expect

  • Get to know Beijing from a new and different perspective!

This experience is designed for travellers who want to go beyond famous landmarks and discover the city’s hidden layers. Following the historic waterways that shaped Beijing, you’ll explore how the city was built, not just what it looks like today.

Walk through quiet canals, lively hutongs, and local areas where daily life unfolds. You’ll see people playing chess, exercising, chatting, and enjoying their evening routines.

Along the way, we’ll stop for local snacks and drinks, and take a short break at a area café (optional). Your guide will share stories about Beijing’s history, culture, and the surprising role water played in shaping the city.

The experience ends with a relaxed delicious dinner in a local restaurant - the perfect way to connect, share stories, and enjoy authentic Beijing cuisine. Dinner will be chosen by the local guide based on the season and guests’ preferences, with options such as hotpot, local barbecue, Peking duck, or other Beijing cuisine.
