What you can expect

  • Morning (7:30 AM): Convenient Departure
    Your day begins with a morning pickup at centrally located meeting point in Beijing: Exit B of Heping Xiqiao Station on Metro Line 5 at 7:30 AM. Please note that the exact meeting point will be confirmed by your tour guide the day before. We depart on time for an efficient and scenic drive towards the Great Wall.

    Morning to Afternoon (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Mutianyu Great Wall Adventure
    Arrive at the magnificent Mutianyu Great Wall, renowned for its lush greenery and beautiful scenery. You will have approximately 4 hours for a self-guided exploration. Walk along the ancient ramparts, climb the watchtowers, and capture breathtaking photos of the wall snaking over the forested mountains.

    Afternoon (1:00 - 4:00 PM): Imperial Grandeur at the Summer Palace
    After lunch (on your own), proceed to the Summer Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. During the 2.5-hour guided tour, you will stroll around Kunming Lake, walk along the iconic Long Corridor adorned with paintings, and admire the elegant Marble Boat. Your guide will share the history of this “Royal Garden Museum” to life.

    Late Afternoon (4:00 - 5:20 PM): Historic Reflection at the Old Summer Palace
    Next, visit the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan). This expansive park, once the pinnacle of imperial garden art, now stands largely as evocative ruins following its destruction in 1860. During the 1.5-hour visit, you will see the hauntingly beautiful remnants of European-style palaces and fountains, set amidst peaceful lakes and gardens. It's a place for quiet reflection on China's complex history.

    Evening (5:20 - 5:45 PM): Scenic Drive & Iconic Photo Op
    On the return journey, enjoy a drive past two of China's most prestigious universities: Tsinghua University and Peking University. The tour service officially concludes around 5:45 PM at the Olympic Green. You will be dropped off near the iconic Bird's Nest (National Stadium) and Water Cube (National Aquatics Centre), where you can take stunning photos of these famous 2008 Olympic venues at your leisure before making your own way back.
