Start: 6:00 a.m. 6:15 a.m. Pick-up from different hotels in the city of Arequipa. We will travel for 2.30 hours to San Antonio de Chuca (Arequipa - Puno Highway, Km. 154); we will have breakfast beforehand (not included in the price of the excursion). We will walk 1 km, a short and somewhat cold route, so you should bring a windbreaker. When we reach the Pillones waterfall we will see rocks shaped by the erosion of the water, we will see vizcachas jumping between the rocks. You can go down to the waterfall but with great care, once there you can take photos and enjoy the warm climate, the flora and fauna of the region. We will change the noisy car horns for the sound of falling water, filling us with energy and enjoying a hidden piece of Arequipa. After visiting the beautiful Pillones waterfalls, we will head towards the “Stone Forest” of Imata, 150 km northeast of Arequipa (Puno highway, approximately 2.30 hours by car). We will arrive at the picturesque town of Imata and with our guide we will begin the approximately 30-minute walk into the forest. The landscape is incomparable, the stone forest of Imata is a natural place with strange rock formations and stone columns, where your imagination and fun will have no limits, you can take photos and play with shadows. Finally, on the way back, in coordination with the passenger, we will make a stop for lunch. On the way back to the city you will see a protected place as part of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca reserve where South American camelids abound. Return to Arequipa. End: 16:30 h. approx.
