Let's start with the grandiose monument at the entrance to the old town, the Elisa Fountain (Elisenbrunnen), which with its sulphurous vapours reminds us that the hottest thermal waters in north-central Europe flow here.

We will see from all sides the Palatine Chapel, the Aachen Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece and the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Germany, which is the final resting place of Charlemagne and which houses amazing treasures and artworks.

We will also see the historic City Hall (Rathaus), which used to be the palatine hall in the 8th-9th century; it´s on the foundations of this building that Aachen´s Town Hall was built.
