Embark on an unforgettable day exploring Raiatea, a sacred island and the cultural heart of Polynesia, on a small-group boat tour combining sailing, snorkelling, culture and relaxation.
Departure at 8:30 a.m. from the Uturoa cruise terminal.
We sail along the west coast of Raiatea, where the turquoise lagoon and the deep blue sea provide a constant spectacle. As we sail, nature sets the agenda: it is not uncommon to see dolphins coming to play around the boat.
Then head to the south of the island, passing through the commune of Tevaitoa, known for its wild bays, lush cliffs and waterfalls hidden in the vegetation.
Our first stop is at the Nao Nao Coral Garden, one of the most beautiful snorkelling spots in Raiatea. Explore the coral heads and observe colourful tropical fish in clear, shallow waters.
We then head to the beach of the Opoa Beach Hotel, where lunch is served in an idyllic setting, with your feet in the sand and the lagoon before you.
The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the Marae of Taputapuatea, a major archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This guided tour along the seafront offers insight into the spiritual and historical significance of this sacred site, considered the cradle of Polynesian civilisation.
To round off the day, you'll sail in the peaceful Faaroa Bay and, conditions permitting, take a trip along the only navigable river in French Polynesia, surrounded by lush vegetation.
Return to the Uturoa cruise port around 4:30 p.m.
